This Privacy Policy describes how FictionCutShort ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application Just A Calculator ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

1 What We Collect

Just A Calculator does not collect or store any personal data. Location is transmitted in a single part (and not more than 5 times) for story purposes only. Besides that, the app functionality operates entirely on your device. We do not have servers that receive your data, and we do not use any analytics or tracking services.

The App requests certain device permissions to enable interactive features within the experience.>

• Purpose: Used for an in-app visual effect feature
• Data handling: Camera preview is displayed on-screen; photos captured are merely for entertainment purposes and stored on-device. The user can easily delete them. No photos or videos are transmitted anywhere.

Microphone Permission

• Purpose: Used for an interactive audio feature within the app
• Data handling: Audio is processed locally in real-time for visual/audio effects only; no recordings are transmitted.

Location Permission

• Purpose: Used for a narrative feature within the app experience & to draw a map
• Data handling: Location data is used momentarily for display & map navigation purposes. Your coordinates are sent to Overpass to find walkable streets near you, and to OpenStreetMap's tile servers to fetch the map imagery. On iPhone the map is drawn by Apple Maps, which receives your location and destination under Apple's own privacy policy. None of it comes to us.

Contacts Permission

• Purpose: Used for a narrative feature within the app experience
• Data handling: Contact information is accessed momentarily for display purposes only; no contact data is stored, copied, or transmitted

Internet Permission

• Purpose: Used to display web content within the app as part of the interactive experience
• Data handling: Standard web browsing within the app; we do not track or log your browsing activity

Vibration Permission

• Purpose: Provides haptic feedback for certain app interactions
• Data handling: No data is collected

Notification Permission

• Purpose: Allows the app to send local notifications as part of the app experience - integral to the story
• Data handling: Notifications are generated locally; no data is transmitted

Data Storage

Any app preferences or progress data is stored locally on your device using the standard storage provided by Android and iOS. This data:

For the best experience, it is advised that all permissions are given. Despite what the app may say within the story, no data is actually used for anything but the purpose of the story. Data is not shared or transmitted anywhere (besides the aforementioned location case). At the end of the night, it's a game.
